Yen-Ming Hsu

Dr. Hsu is currently a Principal Scientist in the Drug Development Group in Research Department at BiogenIdec, Inc. Cambridge, Massachusetts. Dr. Hsu obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry at Michigan State University and received his post-doctoral training in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Harvard University. He joined the Protein Engineering Department at the legacy Biogen, Inc. as a staff scientist in 1990.
Over the past 15 years, Dr. Hsu has established a state of art protein engineering laboratory, specifically in the areas of protein foldings as well as protein-protein interactions. In addition, Dr. Hsu has been working on the research and development of a number of protein therapeutics each targets to regulate a critical pathway in human immune system. Most recently, his research focuses on the identification and development of a novel protein drug aiming to effectively slow down the disease progression in a number of autoimmune disorders by controlling life and death of B lymphocytes at different developmental stages.
Dr. Hsu has been a Board Director of since year 2000 and was elected as the Chairman since August, 2005.
