Angela Mah

As a Media Partnership Specialist for Census 2010, Angela Mah is responsible for developing and nurturing productive partnerships with local and regional media outlets. Ms. Mah is responsible for publicizing Census 2010 as well as responding to news media queries with local and regional outlets. Ms. Mah served as a partnership specialist for the Boston Region of the US Bureau of the Census during Census 2000 where she was responsible for fostering relations and partnering with Fortune 500 Companies, small businesses, non-profit organizations, and local governments to develop solutions to get the most accurate count for the communities.
Prior to joining the Bureau, Ms. Mah served as Vice President, Retail Banking Officer – New England Region at United Commercial Bank. In this role, Ms. Mah oversaw all business development, sales, marketing / advertising / media purchasing, production, outreach, communications / media relations, and administrative affairs for the retail banking division in New England.
Prior to her tenure at UCB, Ms. Mah served as Assistant Director of Communications and Development, Division of Public Health Practice at the Harvard University School of Public Health (HSPH). Ms. Mah directed all aspects of communications and outreach.
Ms. Mah was also responsible for communication and outreach for the North Suburban Tobacco-Free Mobilization Network, where she served as the Director. The Mobilization Network organized its activities to change the social norms, and individual attitudes and behavior regarding tobacco through the use of media advocacy, community education, and mobilization for policy change which ultimately lead to a state wide ban of tobacco in public places.
Ms. Mah is one of the founders of Asian Spectrum, Inc., based in Malden, Massachusetts. Asian Spectrum produces a biweekly television program distributed in the greater Boston area where Ms. Mah served as the host for a number of years. Ms. Mah served on several other non-profit boards including: Massachusetts Public Health Association, Allston Board of Trade, and the Quincy 2000 Collaborative, Inc.
